Roles and Responsibilities:
Hardware-in-the-loop, or HWIL, is a development and test capability that uses actual hardware and deployable embedded software within a modeling and simulation environment to test complex systems in real-time. The Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is looking for a HWIL development and test engineer that will execute system defined performance tests on a missile platform as well as support development of software necessary to test the tactical software.
The candidate will develop and maintain the real-time simulation code, user interface code, device driver code, data collection code and display code. Responsibilities will include operations and software development from requirement analysis to integration in a prototype environment. This role is established to identify and resolve software engineering related issues to ensure that the software under test is designed and developed to achieve overall product objectives and program requirements. This position will be responsible to coordinate with the project engineers, program leaders, and other organizational elements to identify and mitigate risk and to ensure all program specific requirements and objectives are understood and achieved. This position is responsible for understanding and implementing applicable LM-MFC processes and procedures. This position is in Andover, MA supporting testing for the IBCS program in the Patriot Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL).
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Level 4: BS+8-10 YRS or MS+6-8 YRS
Required Qualifications:
-Must have an active DOD special security clearance
-Must to able to support long/off day work hours in the HWIL lab to support ongoing testing of various programs. (odd hours in the HWIL lab which usually between 6 am to 9 p.m. If program deadlines require, then candidate would work Fri/Sat/Sun as needed).
-Experience working and supporting an HWIL
-Experience with real-time embedded systems and/or simulation systems
-Strong experience with C/C++ with a focus on modern C++ features; C++11 experience preferred
-Experience working with Linux distributions; CentOS/RHEL 7 or higher experience is preferred
-Must have a growth mindset with a strong ability to learn quickly and work in fast paced environment
-Willing to work in a closed area on-site full-time
Desired Qualifications:
-Experience working with pub/sub middleware (preferably RTI DDS)
-Experience with VSCode, gcc, cmake
-Experience with Python programming and bash scripting
-Experience working with Agile methodologies, Git, GitLab CI, and automated testing
