Roles and Responsibilities
CLIENT IS CURRENTLY BUILDING UNITS FOR THEIR TOP DRIVE DRILLING SYSTEMS. THEY ARE LOOKING FOR AN INDIVIDUAL WHO CAN READ INTERCONNECT DIAGRAMS AND IS ABLE TO PERFORM THE NECESSARY ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLY WORK (ASSEMBLING, WIRING AND INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL J-BOXES, ELECTRICAL ROUTING, ELECTRIAL TERMINATION, ETC.)
Client is a worldwide leader in design and manufacturing of oilfield equipment and a Technology, Services provider for Oil & Gas Industry. We are seeking a talented Top Drive Assembly Electrician to join our busy Houston facility that primarily produces subsea pressure control equipment. We are looking for experienced assembly personnel for day shift.
JOB SUMMARY: Assemble, install, modify and test either mechanical or hydraulic pneumatic components.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and schematics.
- Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place.
- Install finished assemblies or subassemblies.
- Assemble and attach functional and cosmetic hardware to assemblies using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform functional / continuity tests on completed assemblies.
- May prioritize work based on production schedule.
- Perform the assembly, start up, and function test of equipment systems.
- Troubleshoot systems, make necessary repairs and any corrections to system.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble production tools from blueprints and verbal instructions.
- Set up and test units or subassemblies to specifications.
- Communicate with engineers to resolve problems related to production tools.
- Troubleshoot production tools, repairing if necessary.
- Install precision bearings, perform precise alignment of moving parts.
- Perform assignments in accordance with written procedures.
- Ensure quality documents are completed in compliance with company procedure.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
***EDUCATION REQUIRED - HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED***
SCHEDULE: DAY SHIFT IS FROM 5:00AM - 5:00PM; ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE CONFORTABLE WITH WEEKLY OVERTIME
TOP SKILLS REQUIRED:
- MUST BE A TEAM PLAYER
- AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF PREVIOUS ASSEMBLY OR MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL EXPERIENCE
- AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF ELECTRICAL WIRING EXPEREINCE
- ABILITY TO TROUBLESHOOT
- ABILITY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS
(NOV'S DRAWINGS FALL UNDER THE STANDAR ISO SYMBOLS THAT AN ELECTRICIAN SHOULD BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND)
