Description

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for delivering Quality Assurance/Quality Control for products, supporting manufacturing process and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Catalyst Production & HSSE Processes:
    • Daily analytical testing & reporting
    • Analytical instrument maintenance and calibration
    • Supporting QA/QC , Production, and HSSE processes

  • Reporting Accountabilities:
    • Daily testing of production samples and reporting of analytical data
    • Calibration, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
    • Issuing Certificates of Analysis for finished product
    • Initiating waivers for non-confirming product
    • Managing sample inventory and shipping samples to other sites and to customers
    • Maintaining compliance to standard operating procedures and ISO standard requirements
    • Supporting SSE & SP initiatives at the site
    • Participating in Continuous Improvement projects to drive business value.
    • Participating in standardization studies and activities.

  • Dimension:
    • Ability to organize time and manage multiple tasks to meet daily testing needs.
    • Able to perform routine testing and also perform support functions for operations and customer processes.
    • Ability to communicate with all levels of organization.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.

· Skills and Requirements:

o A BS degree in chemistry or a related field is preferred. Some college chemistry is required.

o 1+ years’ experience in an industrial laboratory is required.

o Ability to work safely with equipment and hazardous materials is required.

o Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed.

o Strong computer skills, especially with Word and Excel are required.

o Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task are needed for success in this position.

o The successful candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule that provides coverage over multiple shifts.

o A strong background and experience in analytical methods is desired.

o Experience with analytical equipment and the ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance is also desired.

o Strong knowledge and experience with SAP and XRF are preferred.

  • Special Challenges:

Ability to multi-task and time management skills are essential for success in this position. Running multiple analyses/instruments at once is a requirement. Ability to work effectively with other team members in high stress situations is essential. The position requires the ability to work a rotating schedule and work alone.

Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is $20- $22 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.

Please Note:

Must have a valid driver’s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.
