Description

Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Works with business unit engineering personnel on developing cutting edge fuel nozzle and spray technologies. Technical duties include electrical work with test stands.
Knowledge of diverse engineering topics like thermodynamics, heat-transfer, gas dynamics, fluid-flow and combustion of modern gas turbine engines. Possesses excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Enjoys working with a positive attitude in a solution-oriented team environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Purpose: Administrative and technical support to Mentor site quality organization until which time full time employees have been approved, interviewed and implemented into the business.


Scope: Primary responsibilities are to conduct internal Quality Management System (QMS) audits to AS9100 Rev. D for all for 4 value streams. Secondary responsibilities are to provide internal FAIR support, external audits support and support materials control lab for if required. Royals Royce and GE audits
General: This will require rapid relationship building within PH personnel who contractor will ask detailed questions and obtain objective evidence that PH Mentor is in compliance with our quality system procedures, hence soft skills are required. Contractor will advise quality management for Opportunities for Improvement (OFI’s) or Corrective Actions (CARs) as required to bring PH mentor site into compliance to our quality procedures.
The contractor will be expected to be working at the Mentor facility until all internal audits have been conducted. It is expected that the contractor will also support the Mentor BU quality team for as long as the work load is needed. (3-6+ months)

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering preferred but open to any degree.
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through two or more years of related experience. American Society for Quality certification desired.
Practical knowledge of state-of-the-art inspection and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts and general business operations.
Knowledge of aerospace industry or similar industry products and legal and regulatory requirements related to field.
Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement principles and techniques to quality and manufacturing functions.
Ability to use standard business software applications and/or specialized data analysis tools.
Ability to work on a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of the situation or data requires thorough identification of factors and analysis of impact; work within general work objectives regarding projects and team goals.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, and financial reports.
Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management; respond to significant inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to interpret a broad variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form that include several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to use full discretion in selecting procedures and techniques to apply to work and determine priority and order of assignments.
Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

Must have a valid driver’s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.

Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is $ 33.00-$38.50 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
