Description

The purpose of this position is to calibrate and adjust equipment in a lab or on the production floor in accordance with established procedures or program requirements.; this individual may also assist in creating calibration procedures for new equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Calibrates inspections, measurements and tests equipment in lab and onsite for accuracy in accordance with established calibration procedures; (Physical/Dimensional, Torque & Volume , Pressure/Flow, Temperature Light/Color, Mass/Weight, Sound, Electrical, Electronics, Force, Mass, Velocity, , Time/Frequency equipment, systems and controls).

• Performs calibrations for in lab and onsite locations following prescribed Vertex, program, or GIDEP procedures.

• Understands basic uncertainty contributor. Variation - understanding of variance of measurements and procedure = next level of step of knowledge.

• Records data gathered during calibration within CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

• Identifies and utilizes appropriate measurement procedures.

• Generates certificates of calibration and/or out of tolerance reports as required and in correct media appropriate to meet customer requirements.

• Maintains secondary or intrinsic and/or working calibration standards. Uses calibration software when required to expedite calibration times and to adjust calibration devices.

• Support lab system administration functions

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• 4+ years of previous work experience in calibrating electrical/RF measuring devices and working with a calibration recall system.

• Associate degree, or higher, in STEM, or 8+ years of direct work experience with a high school diploma.

• Familiarity with ISO 17025 and Laboratory Accreditation.

• Knowledge of calibration standards ; ISO 9001, 9002, 17025, AS9100

• Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.

• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor with a strong, professional customer service orientation.

Desired Skills: • Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) experience • Military or other formalized training on the processes and procedures for performing calibration • GIDEP Rep Experience • Focused experience on Phys D, measurement tools or power supplies • Experience with Northrup / Grumman SureCal software • Experience calibrating or testing radio frequency (RF)/microwave equipment ie signal generators, network analyzers, frequency counters, attenuators, spectrum analyzers, etc. Familiar with equipment from Hewlett Packard, Agilent Technologies, Keysight Technologies and Fluke.

Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is $50.00-70.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.

Please Note:

Must have a valid driver’s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.
