Description

The CP Lead – Logistics Operations is responsible for acquiring logistics services, materials, and equipment for all downstream businesses.

  • Rail loading, switching, cleaning, and maintenance agreements
  • Rail track maintenance, design, and engineering agreements

  • Category of supply strategy development

This role is dynamic with a high focus on commerciality and operational support in which the CP Lead engages in direct negotiation with logistics service providers for a variety of scopes applicable to site and outbound logistics operations. This role contributes directly to the strategy development and implementation for the logistics category across all downstream lines of business and will implement new end to end strategies across North America to better integrate downstream logistics operations with value to company’s end customer in mind. The successful candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of downstream commodity movement and logistics including site operations, proven success with stakeholder engagement and management, market dynamics and analysis, as well as value creation through supply chain optimization and creative thinking. The CP Lead is also accountable for PACM (Post-Award-Contract-Management) activities and is a key CMT (Contract Management Team) member in multiple CMTs, touching various classes of business. This role will have significant interface with railcar loading, switching, cleaning, maintenance, inspection, and other rail track scopes that impact manufacturing and terminal sites where company conducts business.

Additional responsibilities include:

Build highly collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders in the COBs, Finance, HSSE, etc. to deliver significant reductions in costs by continually applying transformational supply chain principles in all stages of the contracting life cycle

Special Challenges:

  • Develop contract strategies that enhance customer experience through logistics delivery of Company’s products
  • Generate cost reductions and value that align to business plan goal
  • Improve contract value delivery through robust post award contract management
  • Development of new category of supply goals
  • Ability to diplomatically challenge current ways of working

Establish new centrally managed category of supply within a diverse organization

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Minimum High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

  • Established logistics background, rail transport and product loading operations beneficial
  • Experience with chemicals manufacturing and site logistics
  • Demonstrated track record of execution excellence and delivering on time and to plan results
  • Strong commercial and operational analysis experience beneficial
  • Sound understanding of supply chain operations
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills across multiple lines of business
  • Demonstrated ability to interact seamlessly and effectively with all levels of management
  • Understanding of procurement processes:
    • CMCP
    • Strategy development and execution
    • Negotiate and place contracts
    • Supplier and contract performance management

Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is $55 - $ 60 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.

Please Note:

Must have a valid driver’s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.
